Haven't been in here in a while and I think that It has improved over the last few times we came in. Things were fast and the sandwiches were great. I think it helped to be in before lunch rush started, so that probably helped. They do have and maybe did have smoothies before but we finally just had one and it was amazing and all the kids loved it too. I recommend this place to everyone mainly because they mill their own wheat flour on a regular basis and of course the food is so freakin good.

I had been wanting to try Great Harvest in St. Charles for years. I was in the area, and stopped in for a few Christmas gifts, some coffee and a sandwich. I liked their selection, and found what I needed. That part was fine. Then, I arrived at the counter and that's when things got weird. There were two cashiers. I stood in one line and waited my turn. When it was my turn, the cashier didn't even looked at me, just said "I have to make some sandwiches" and walked away. I turned to the other cashier who was having a great time chatting with a friend. I waited...and waited...people were behind me...I waited. Then, I just put everything back and left, and neither of the people working there even turned their head. So, I found stuff I wanted to buy and order - I just couldn't pay for it, or order it...so I can't tell you how it tasted. I can tell you that I probably won't bother to go back.

GO! Best cold sandwich I've ever had! They always have samples so you can actually try it before you buy it, though not sure if anyone could be disappointed with anything there! Love the sandwiches and never walk out empty handed when I leave. They have amazing breakfast/desert breads as well as recipes for the best and easiest french toast casserole you can make at home. Give it a shot for sure.

Have I really not reviewed this place? I was in need of a quick bite for lunch near my storage unit (!) and Yelp came up with Great Harvest Bread Co. I assumed they were new to the area, but when I asked at the counter, she said they'd been in the current location for 9 (?) years and at another location nearby for several years before that. I grew up in St. Peters but never knew they were in the neighborhood! Oh, the lost opportunities for good eats... I'll be honest, I don't remember the specifics of what I ordered at this point, but I ate-in twice, both visits in the late afternoon. The aroma of baked and baking goods when you walk in the door is sublime. My sandwiches were fresh and delicious, and the bread (or at least, the ones I chose) were soft and full of all sorts of nuts and whatnot - my favorite kind :). I have to concur with the reviewer who said that the service can be spotty - my first visit impressed, the second I felt rather neglected - there were what appeared to be several regulars in, and the staff were deep in conversation. And I remember it being hot inside. But the sandwiches are worth your visit!

Just went here to pick up some lunch bread. It was my first time so I got some free cookies! And got a sample slice of the cinnamon bread, really good!! Most everything is 100% whole wheat. Everything is made without high fructose corn syrup, which is good because I'm allergic to corn. Overall a really great visit :)

Let's talk bread. I like bread. I like going to Great Harvest because they give you a big hunk of bread while you are deciding what you want. I like that. I love their bread options. I had the opportunity to try their sandwiches last time I was in. They were just OK. I probably won't run across town to pick up a sammy. But, I really like that Great Harvest sells their bread all over St. Louis. I have been picking mind up at the O'Fallon Farmers Market. I highly recommend the honey wheat and the original white. It's a lot denser than your normal sandwich bread you would get at the store, so sometimes I just use 1 slice and make 1/2 a sammy at home. But that white bread makes and amazing PBJ! If you are stopping into the store and its' your first time, they hook you up with a free cookie!

today i was reunited with the great harvest bread co. I love this place. Every time I visit I feel so wholesome. Today first time at this location and they did not disappoint. Very helpful staff, suggesting things for the next visit, informing me about different products and even some suggestions on foods out of their realm based on my likes. The bread is amazing and they make a great sandwich as well. I recommend going in and grabbing a loaf of honey whole wheat. You can eat it as a snack by itself.....so good. There is something available to satisfy everyone, take home soups, pastries, fruit spreads etc. check it out!

I love this place. You walk in the door and can the smell is wonderful! You're always greeted right away and offered a slice of fresh bread. The bread is really good! There are different baked goods available daily. And their sandwiches, THEIR SANDWICHES! They pile on the meat, and are quite great at recommending which bread to choose for your meal. It's a great bakery and a great place to grab some lunch!

I love this place! Their breads are so healthy and the employees are super....many know my name and the others recognize my face. Hospitality is great as well as their sandwiches for lunch. Favorites are pumpkin bread, cinnamon chip bread (makes awesome French Toast) and their tuna sandwich made with high-fiber five.

Loving the Oatmeal Raisin Bread I got at the Best of MO at the weekend. My daughter ate 4 portions yesterday, I'm on my third slice this morning, yum.
